Dresden was an exciting place from September 21 to 26, 2014, when the Interdisciplinary Summer School took place at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the TU in Dresden.
Among some other high potential junior and senior academics, also Peter Kastner, Senior Engineer of the AIT research group Assistive Healthcare Information Technology in Graz, had been invited for a key note presentation as well as for a workshop at the TU Dresden.
The TU Dresden is one of eleven German excellence universities, and the largest technical university in Germany at all.

The Summer School had been focusing on the subject of “Inclusive Innovations in Health Careand according to this, Peter Kastner was talking in his lecture about “The Internet of Things 4 pHealth”.
The workshop dealt with the ‘role of ICT in predictive telehealth concepts’. Thus, Peter Kastner concentrated within his workshop on the following question: “Which kind of information sources and parameters should be included to improve the prediction of risk for worsening of heart failure and why?”

The group picture only gives an idea about the international and multifaceted potpourri of attendees who all enjoyed this auspicious gathering of knowledge, science and many fascinating new ideas.
Participants from every single continent and about 20 different countries presented their ideas to this selected and inquiring audience.

This summer school had been funded by the Excellence Initiative of the German federal and state governments. It enables researchers at the top of their field to receive special education, interact with peers and develop international co-operation projects.
