China Machine Press has translated the “Smart Cameras” Springer book edited by the AIT expert Dr. Ahmed Nabil Belbachir in 2009 into Chinese. The Chinese edition of the book is published since January 2014 and is accessible through several bookstores (http://cmpbook.com/stackroom.php?id=36868)
Invited by Prof. Jähne, the scientific leader of the image processing forum in Germany, Dr. Belbachir presented the book and works on Smart Cameras at the 54. Forum edition, dedicated to embedded vision (http://www.bv-forum.de/rb/bvf54.html). In his talk, Dr. Belbachir presented background information, fundamentals, an overview of the historical evolution, applications and the latest trends in smart cameras concepts. He also showed examples of his on-going research in tackling smart cameras for real-time 3D 360° panoramic vision using a rotating stereo line dynamic vision sensor.
