Christoph Mayr, Head of Business Unit Photovoltaic Systems was elected to the member of the board of the Association of European Renewable Research Centres (EUREC), which is the leading association representing research centres and university departments active in the area of renewable energy.

The EUREC board consists of ten members, an elected group of representatives from European Research Institutes. “The election into the EUREC board gives AIT the possibility to shape general frameworks for the research agenda of renewable energy as well as for the European Innovation Council (EIC) as attractive support programme for young applied researchers”, says Christoph Mayr. Furthermore, I also provides AIT with a global network of research institutions and industry partners for renewable energy technologies and an excellent European Master study programme.

EUREC was founded in 1991 as European Economic Interest Grouping (E.E.I.G.) with the goal of improving the quality and scope of European research and development in renewable energy technologies. The purpose of the association is to promote and support the development of innovative technologies and human resources to enable a prompt transition to a sustainable energy system.
EUREC is the voice of renewable energy research in Europe, representing European Research Centres active in renewable energy.
