Real-Time Data Analytics in the Mobility Domain


The ever-increasing amount of data available in various research domains leads to new scientific and industrial challenges. The data captured and managed in research environments are often produced continuously (data streams) and have a variety of formats ranging from text files (e.g. Twitter messages) to binary formats (cell phone data or GPS traces). Such heterogeneous data streams increase the demand for an innovative eScience infrastructure enabling real-time data access for interactive scenarios on top of complex data-intensive workflows.

The project REDITA develops a real-time data analytics platform enhancing an existing data pipeline toolchain with novel Big Data and high performance computing technologies and adaptive execution strategies for heterogeneous parallel architectures. The project demonstrates the developed platform for innovative use cases of the transport domain, integrating various data sources and interactively visualizing the results.
