Five specialised departments researching the key infrastructure issues of the future

The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology comprises five departments. Each department focuses on very specific areas of infrastructure.

In Austria, there are over 1.100 employees - largely based at the main facilities Vienna Tech Gate, Vienna TECHbase, Seibersdorf, Wr. Neustadt, Ranshofen and Leoben – working on the development of those tools, technologies and solutions for Austrian industry considered to be of future relevance and which comply with the institute's motto Tomorrow Today.

Strategically-critical Research Areas

The departments are focused on a few highly specialised Research Areas. The AIT is thus very specifically positioned within the international research community, signalling its intention to play a leading role in these Research Areas.
